ingredients

2 pounds  chicken wings, split at joints, tips discarded

1 tablespoon  vegetable oil

1 teaspoon  salt

½ teaspoon  ground black pepper

4 tablespoons  soy sauce

2 tablespoons  honey

1 tablespoon  rice vinegar

1 tablespoon  sesame oil

2 cloves  garlic, minced

1 tablespoon  grated fresh ginger

2 tablespoons  brown sugar

1 tablespoon  sesame seeds

2  green onions, thinly sliced

preparation

step 1.

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil.

step 2.

In a large bowl, toss the chicken wings with oil, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.

step 3.

Arrange the wings in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 25 minutes.

step 4.

While the wings are baking, prepare the glaze. Mince garlic, grate ginger, and add to a small saucepan with soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and brown sugar. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar has dissolved and the sauce has thickened slightly, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.

step 5.

After 25 minutes, remove the wings from the oven and brush them generously with the glaze. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the wings are cooked through to an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) and the glaze is caramelized.

step 6.

Remove the wings from the oven and brush with any remaining glaze. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.

step 7.

Serve the wings hot, garnished with additional green onions if desired.

step 8.

To store leftovers, allow the wings to cool completely, then place them in an airtight container. They can be refrigerated for up to 3-4 days. To reheat, place the wings on a baking sheet and warm in a 350°F (175°C) oven for about 10-15 minutes, or until heated through.
